O’sol aims to make solar power accessible to as many people as possible thanks to its automated solar solution. Our mission is to help create a more sustainable and environmentally-minded world in which each person benefits from access to power thanks to the clean and limitless energy of the Sun.
For us, renewable energy and new technology are key factors for progress, which will bring about solutions to the biggest challenges of our century.
Our first goal is therefore to simplify the use of solar power by proposing power solutions which are mobile, flexible and accessible to anyone.
We wholeheartedly believe that the future is bright, and we put our work and efforts towards building a better tomorrow.
We dedicate our expertise and skills to the benefit of Humankind. We wish to design and offer solutions which help create a better world for all of us.
Our curiosity is our motivation. We aim to find new and better solutions to problems, and put our ingenuity at the heart of our work.
The eyes and the mind full of stars, Idriss is the perfect optimistic dreamer. However, his background in engineering, astronomy and entrepreneurship brings him the opportunity to turn his dreams into reality. Amateur of drama, he will even make a show out of them… and lead O’Sol to your round of applauses.
Enrique Garcia Bourne
Former basket player, Enrique, decided to play in another field, the future of solar energy. His background as space engineer combined to his management consultancy experience brought him to cofound O’Sol. Feel free to challenge me to a basketball game anytime you like!
R&D Engineer, O’Sol
Do you have a problem? Need to invent something? Think outside of the box? Maxime is here. He knows how to handle cutting-edge technologies and he will convince you by solving your problems! Besides, he can also become your coach in nutrition, sport, communication… he is a true swiss-knife!
Business Developer, O’Sol
Marie is the ray of sunshine which brightens O’Sol and the CréACannes incubator every morning. While full of enthusiasm and energy, she manages to stay grounded: her methodical and organised demeanor demonstrates it. She makes sure to understand our clients and their needs, then helps us adapt our strategy to better serve them.
O’Sol was first incubated at the PACA-Est (in Sophia-Antipolis), and is now part of the European Space Agency Business Incubation Centre (ESA BIC Sud France).
CNES (French Space Agency) has followed O’Sol and its two founders from the very beginning of the adventure, at the Ac’tInSpace competition. Even today, O’Sol works closely with CNES on its technology development, and receives its support in various forms.
O’Sol has also been supported by a range of organisations through prizes, awards, training, counselling and advice.
May 2014 – July 2014
The project begins
Idriss and Enrique become regional winners of Act’InSpace, the technology transfer competition organised by the CNES (French Space Agency).
April 2015 – September 2016
The project develops
The team continues with the technology needed for the generator and builds a first mock-up.
The project joins the PACA-Est Business incubator and the HEC Challenge + programme, and is rewarded with several prizes and awards.
Idriss and Enrique invest their own capital and O’Sol is officially incorporated on the 5th of October 2016.
Functional prototype and first patent filing
O’Sol’s first patent, which protects its deployment system, is filed with INPI.
The team completes their first functional prototype of the generator, demonstrating its automated deployment, power production, storage and delivery.
O’Sol receives a French Tech en Emergence grant from BPI France and joins the European Space Agency’s Business Incubator: ESA BIC. They provide O’Sol guidance in technical, management and strategy aspects, and a financial incentive in the form of a grant to help the company’s development.
O’Sol continues its development, and will soon complete the construction of a second prototype with added features.
